Welcome to the ASL inside ATL!

I am thrilled to extend a very warm welcome to the “Keepin’ it Real with Evon” show.

Here is a brief story on how the show was created.

I had the fortunate opportunity to host a “Deaf Oprah” show on Gallaudet University campus because I saw the critical need to stimulate students’ minds from this show. The “Deaf Oprah” show became very popular with the students. Whenever a hot issue would arise, I would immediately set up the “Deaf Oprah” show to help solve problems on campus.

Oprah Winfrey was my role model. I followed Oprah since she became a reporter. I saw the tears that Oprah shed and also saw the sparks that Oprah created in her shows. She later created the “Oprah Winfrey” show. I was determined to have that hybrid type of talk show someday similar to hosts such as Oprah, Tyra, Rachel and few others did. I love to discuss real things, real people, real lives that is a part of our daily and ordinary lives. So I came up with the name “Keepin’ it Real with Evon” show.

However, it is not my show, it is your show! Whatever issues or topics you want or would like to know, bring it on and I will be happy to explore and share information with you!

I would like to thank Michelle Hope and the ASL inside ATL crew for giving me this opportunity to make a difference with this show. I want to bring the outside window to you from all angles/perspectives as much as possible so YOU can enjoy and learn from the show.
